The Main Characters

The protagonist
Lewis the protagonist in my film will have his world tipped upside down as the equilibrium breaks as his  family has been kidnapped. Lewis's quest will be to find this man who has captured his family, its up to him what happens to the man when he finds him and also to save his family.

















The Helper
These two  have been his friends since primary, Ashley help Lewis track down the kidnapper, using high technology computers, and he has the right skills to be able to do so. Ashley will be at Lewis's side at all time, not literally but speaking to him through a headpiece, he is never seen outside of his room.
















The Villain
Lewis will do anything, to capture this man, and keep him away from his family. We do not know his name through this film, but if referred as 'the man' this is the man who disrupts all equilibrium, and puts Lewis to the test to find his family.

Conventions of a Action film.

The narrative in a big blockbuster action film would be pretty simple without much of a story line except an antagonist disrupting the equilibrium and the protagonist will have to either defeat him/her or put them in prison. This will be the same throughout the majority of action film that the 'bad guy' loses.
More specific there is 'the hero' that return equilibrium and restores peace, 'the villain' who creates the narrative complication and disrupts everything and sometimes in action films such a spider-man many times there is 'the princess' who has to be saved and becomes the protagonists reward.

Marvel's Avengers Assemble (2012) Example of a recent action film.

This film is a very good example of a action film, as it has many conventions of a action film, such as big explosions, fight scenes and death of loved ones. There is the conventional antagonist, in this case it is Loci and there is also the protagonists, who are Iron Man, Thor, Hulk and Captain America. Throughout this film, and within this trailer there is loud upbeat music, which always keeps the audience's attention. Not only does the music keep the attention of the audience but so do the futuristic vehicles and weapons used in the movie, which a unrealistic but for any boy is a dream come true.

This film has none stop, explosions, fighting and weaponry all the way through, again, another reason why this is such a good example of a action film because that is all that contains in this film. From this trailer it gives the audience a chance to see a lot of the fight scenes making them want to watch it even more. Before this film came out the individual hero films was out, and those who enjoyed those, really wanted to see this film as all the heroes are united, making hero fans extremely excited about this. From watching this film myself it is much more than action, it also has humour in some parts making it even more enjoyable to watch. I think it would be easier to make my storyboard based on a big box office action film like this.
